Nick Payne, Armour Plated Camel
Kinaesthetic Modelling
Nick Payne - www.armourplatedcamel.com
Kinaesthetic Modelling (KM) has been used to create strategies, solve problems and make plans.
- Sixty bio-tech scientists anticipated five years of research scenarios in order advise their CEO on his strategic options.
- A sustainable wood products company modelled and redesigned their sales/customer service operations. A consultancy settled on core values that are still viable after 10 years.
- Individuals have used KM to get their personal priorities straight before making important career shifts.

Mike Pounsford, Couravel Limited
Strategic Dialogue
Mike Pounsford, Couravel Limited - www.couravel.com
The term "Big Picture" is used by many visual communication consultancies. In the case of Couravel they use Big Pictures to:
- Help leadership teams articulate their strategies
- Improve managers communication and coaching skills
- Engage with employees to provide Line of Sight from "my job" to the Big Picture
Mike illustrated the approach with reference to recent case studies and reflect on some of the successes and challenges encountered.

Anthony Willoughby
Territory Mapping
Anthony Willoughby - www.territorymapping.net
Anthony Willoughby was born in England in 1950 and brought up in Africa. Anthony clearly remembers taking paddle steamers down the Nile, being nearly eaten by lions, trodden on by elephants and keeping pet scorpions.
In 1980s to fend off boredom and an ever-expanding waistline, and discover more about his ‘territory’ Anthony embarked on a variety of journeys and expeditions, which included climbing Mt. Mustagh Ata in western China a 7,546 metre (24,575ft.) peak without oxygen or porters. Based on these expedition experiences, and inspired by a complainer on one of these expeditions to Papua New Guinea, he established the I Will Not Complain team building and leadership development programs in Japan in January 1989.
He returned to the UK in 1999 to develop his Territory Mapping concept that evolved from discussions Anthony had in remote villages in Papua New Guinea and Kenya. He has taken Masai Warriors to the IoD and bankers to the great wall of China.
In these days where we all feel “lost” and where we don’t know where we are going, he will be sharing his experiences and why your territory has never been important.

Mark Wogan
Why the Vision thing is a Visual thing
Mark Wogan, CEO & Originator Crystal Mapping
Mark started his career with Ford Motor Co. where he was taught how to be a good analyst and a bit about management. He then left to co-found the TUP Group, a successful MIS company where he learnt how to be a better analyst and a few things about leadership. In all this time the thing he learnt most was that visual thinking was the critical element in everything he did. So in 2003 he founded Crystal Mapping Ltd., and originated crystal mapping as a new way of visually presenting and communicating information. Crystal Mapping - The Bigger Picture, was published in 2007 and now as CEO of Crystal Mapping and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Mark is committed to new ways of combining words, pictures and numbers to present information, improve understanding and change the way companies think and communicate.
The very fact that we call it ‘vision’ suggests we need to see it. From my own experience of corporate life and building an international business from scratch to 250 people I’ll tell the story of how I used visual thinking and communication techniques to make sure everyone in the business understood where they were going, how they were going to get there and why they were important in the bigger picture -the whole ‘vision thing’.
